DECEMBER 5, 2026 | SAM HOUSTON PARK USATF-certified 5K and non-competitive 1 mile routes Competitive runners, fun runners and walkers, and families with children welcome Registered participants receive a finisher medal, event race bag, t-shirt, and other great SWAG Super fun post-race party featuring free food and drinks, fun games and activities, sponsor booths, awards ceremony, a visit from Santa Claus, great music & more 100% of race proceeds benefit the children and families of RMHC Greater Houston Up to $50,000 will be generously matched, dollar for dollar, by the Trafigura Foundation   Race Day Schedule 6:30 a.m. - Walk-up Registration Begins 8:00 - 8:15 a.m. - Race starts  8:45 - 10:00 a.m. - After Party   WHY WE RUN: To support families with children receiving care in the Medical Center for a serious illness or injury. We provide a home away from home for these families.    Founded in 1978, the mission of RMHC Greater Houston  is to offer a home away from home providing care, compassion, and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions. The House provides a place to find rest and respite, activities, meals, and snacks for our families, at no cost.   We serve children and families at four locations: Holcombe House - 70 Bedrooms Texas Children's Hospital - 19 Bedrooms Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital - 20 Bedrooms MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital - 2 Bedrooms   In addition to our Houses, RMHC Greater Houston also has a CareMobile that goes to local communities to provide immunizations and well checks for school aged children.   5K Pricing Schedule: Early Bird Pricing - $35 Open Registration Pricing - $40 Last Call Pricing - $45   1 Miler Pricing Schedule (Kids):  Early Bird Pricing - $25 Open Registration Pricing - $30 Last Call Pricing - $35   1 Miler Pricing Schedule (Adults): Early Bird Pricing - $35 Open Registration Pricing - $40 Last Call Pricing - $45
