About This Race

6th Annual Mc6 Blue Jay Mile December 5, 2026 This is the 6th Annual Blue Jay Mile.  The goal has always been to get and keep kids active while promoting youth running.  The first race of the day is the 6th grade race with runners trying to beat the school record.  One mile races follow for all other elementary age groups and an Open/Alumni race.  The Blue Jay Mile has steadily grown and adds more competitive races each year.  This year we will have a competitive middle school race.  Cadence Running Club is now hosting this event with the mission of growing youth distance running in Fort Worth. Cadence Running Club This is race, run or walk for the whole family and for any kids wanting to see how fast they can run a mile!  Competitive Mile Boys and Girls Races 6th graders  3rd-5th graders A mini mile for K-2nd (1-2 laps) 7th and 8th Grade Mile Open/Alumni Mile for 9th grade and up and up Race Day Schedule*  7:45 Fun Run/Walk  8:00 6th Grade Boys 8:15 6th Grade Girls 8:30 5th Boys and Girls 8:45 3rd and 4th Boys and Girls 9:00 K-2nd Mini-Mile (2 laps) 9:15 The Cadence Mile  7th/8th Middle School Boys and Girls (will divide if needed) 9:30 Open/Alumni Mile (High School and Up) *Race times are tentative, races might be combined or split depending on number of runners. If needed, Updated race times will be sent out prior to race day.
